Km, don't you do Max-OT training? Love to see one of you girls do a log on this. Even though this style of training has become very popular in recent years, I still think a lot of folks are not familiar with it. I realize it is very basic, but still worth reviewing and doing a log on. I'd be willing to do it myself in the future if anyone is interested.
enlighten please!?!! I'm not familiar with Max-OT training.... I'd be willing to log it though. I'll also be keeping an eye out for yours!

Hey KP, I train Max- OT style. Go to ast-ss (dot com). I love this type of training; you do high weight/low reps for muscle overload. There are no wasted reps or sets, and you go to positive failure. You'll be surprised at how strong you are! I strongly recommend that you check it out, I've made some impressive gains since I started.

Kim is correct that Max-OT is a great training program for bulking.
However, if you really buy into the Max-OT philosophy, it is a great way to train regardless of whether you are bulking or cutting (assuming your ultimate goal either way is to have as much lean muscle as possible).
Advocates of Max-OT would argue that overloading your muscles the Max-OT way is the best way to gain solid muscle- Period. Your DIET is the variable you would then control to suit your bulking or cutting goals.
Point being, this is something worthwhile for anyone who is interested in gaining solid muscle to look into.

So I looked into this today, I'm gonna print the program tomorrow and start it next week. I really think it will be helpful in gaining muscle! I've gotten a bit off track this last week with my diet b/c family was in town- but I'm kickin it back into high gear next week! I got too many goals to keep! Thanks for bringing up the MAX-OT program!

So this week has been really crappy food/exercise wise (no doubt because of poor nutrition) but today I did my dance cardio class for the first time in 2 weeks and it's going to have to be considered my HIIT... I love that class and I just feel so amped afterwards! Could it really be that bad for me? Is it going to hurt my muscle growth? I think my weekly split will be: Mon-legs Tue-back Wed.- Dance Cardio (PM) Thurs- chest, tris/bis Fri.-Legs Sat- abs/Dance Cardio (AM) Sun- make food day! haha- rest
I think that will work nicely. I also try to do a little bit of abs at the end of each session. I really want that well defined ab look... cutting or bulking, so I need more muscle! I LOVE building muscle though.. I never thought I would- but my goal is to be 'better than the average woman!' and I'm on my way!

I would say you're well on your way to being above average..I think its great when I see a female who wants to build muscle. So many are turned off by the idea. Why not have more muscle?? muscles are awesome! Hey kp, if you eat pre and post cardio meals similiar to your pre and post training meals you have nothing to worry about in regards to the cardio negatively affecting your muscle growth.

Thanks for the reassurance! I need the dance cardio for my sanity! lol! ~you know its really werid- in high school I wanted to be stick thin because I lived at the beach and that's the look there, but I played soccer and softball so I always ran about 150 for my weight, wearing a size 9-11 jeans. (far from stick thin). But now I'm obviously much less (127 size 3/5 jeans) and feel like my muscles are so much better and bigger! Its odd... I think I was a little more 'soft' then but I was looking at my quads and they are coming along nicely despite not gaining much weight. I was worried but I really think they ARE developing! yea!!

Nothing is better then seeing results from all the hard work. Seeing leg development is especially rewarding because its no easy task to develop the lower body. Sounds like you are on your way, keep up the great work.

Thanks guys! These past two weeks have really thrown a hitch in my get a long... I've been off on my diet *(family in town, traveling) and I started BC which has made me crave stuff I didn't before! Arg! I need to just get my mind set right and jump back in! I'm going to do arms in the morning tomorrow and am training with a PT on Thurs for legs to get some new exercise in and really kick it up a notch! I can tell I've added BF to my abdomen and that makes for a sad face... my goal thru my bulk was to maintain ab definition and at this rate they will be gone in a few more weeks! no no no! lol... Have I mentioned that bulking is crule..! Everyone at my gym knows me as 'the girl with the abs' and my image is fading! hahaha! I just explain that I'm bulking and wear a tank instead of just a sports bra! But tomorrow I will give a more detailed account of WO/diet to get myself back in the game!

Certain BC's can make you hold weight as well...some a couple of pounds some a few more. I'm not sure as to how to get around this, but I can ask...they're not all like that, though.

Some times when you fall off your diet it can hard to get back on track. But like you said, just jump back in and keep plugging away. Before long you will be back in the regular routine and moving forward.
